TREATY NOW! UPCOMING EVENTS
Show your support, show your face, and SHOW UP!!!!!
Facebook Video Selfie Campaign
Ongoing
At iconic sites across Australia, YOU can record and upload a Facebook “video-selfie” saying “I stand for a treaty between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians because.....”
Reasons might include:
“...because we need to recognise the sovereign rights of this land's first citizens”
“...because acknowledging our past will help us prepare for our future”
“...because my ancestors lived here for 50,000 years” (Indigenous supporter)
At the end of the video, YOU can nominate a friend to pledge their support next by telling Australia, and the world what do you stand for
After posting the video, YOU will be invited to enhance your Facebook presence with a transparent Aboriginal flag overlay on your profile!!
Nationwide Video Stream
27 August 2016
A simultaneous video loop of all the different ‘selfie-videos’ that have been recorded throughout the campaign will be subtitled and projected onto the faces of iconic Australian buildings and landmarks, such as the Sydney Opera House, Parliament House, a skyscraper in Melbourne, and even the side of Uluru. We will project the videos on the eve of our capital city marches (see next).
